What is a consortium?

A consortium is a group of schools which share one common entrance exam.

The purpose of consortiums in regards to entrance exams is to reduce the number that pupils have to sit.

In some scenarios, pupils will take between 8 and 14 exams for different schools across London, which means that for between 2 and 3 months they are taking a test every Saturday.

Consortiums deal with this by sharing test results between all of their schools so that pupils only have to take one exam rather than multiple exams. This reduces stress on the child throughout the entrance exam period.
